A Strange product mix

Backdate: I must have missed Mark Binker’s story on Chakras weeks-old decision to not be a lottery outlet.  I don’t know about you, but that settles it for me, I’m taking my facial massage business elsewhere.

The Capitol Beat provides a link (Excel file) to where you can lose spend your money on lottery tickets real soon.  On examining the list I found one Greensboro outlet that surprised me: swanky Chakras Spa.

I can just imagine future front desk conversations at the South Elm Street establishment, “Yes… I’ll have my usual… a Chai Tea Mud Mask, the Dead Sea Salt Body Scrub, a French Finish Manicure and, um, let me try the $5 Carolina Cash ticket this time.”

It’s just too wierd to fathom but I guess the owners of Chakras are banking on a reluctance among Greensboro’s upper-crust to purchase tickets along side the un-massaged and un-pedicured masses.

    David:

Chakras, oddly enough, received full approval to sell but decided not to. (I wrote about this in a story a couple weeks ago.) They’re still in the data file, because, well, I guess the Lottery is hopeful or something. But they’ve told me they’re not going to be in the mix on opening day.

Thanks Mark… I should be paying closer attention…. especially to YOUR stories.

David…there’s no reason you should be different than anyone else…my own wife doesn’t read my stuff.

Although you provided a very nice illustration of the dangers (for me) of posting raw data to the web.

I’m wondering how many, um, let’s call ‘em gentlemen’s clubs will sign up to sell tickets like the one in Charlotte did.

Let’s NOT call them gentleman’s clubs. No gentlemen can be found in those places.

Ever notice how blog comments can go off in tangents?

There are gentlemen in Chakras. I see them there regularly. In brown bathrobes.
