Our City Council should redact and release

Like Ed, the city’s reticence to make judiciously redacted parts of the RMA report public confounds me.

After reading the whole thing I’m convinced our City Council should call a meeting and vote to release at least the first 31 pages of the report (Section 1).   From my non-legal view, that section of the report confirms Bledsoe’s Rhino reported investigations and presents all of the justification needed for the public to understand why David Wray is no longer employed as our Chief of Police.

Other sections are potentially harmful to innocent parties and could be libelous in nature and only serve to corroberate the findings of the report.

I’ve skimmed the report. I’ve read Jerry’s series. I have a question. Is there anyone, anywhere, in any of all of this who was working towards closing the racial gaps that were obviously prevalent in the GPD? Anyone? In the GPD? Ed Kitchen? Mitch Johnson? A single living, breathing human being? Or, do we just have to pick a side? I agree the fact seem to support Mitch Johnson’s decision, but pardon me for withholding my attaboy until I hear an answer to the question, “Hey, what inititiatives did you take to deal with the wel-known and devastating racial fragmentation within your Police Department?” Is anyone at the wheel?

[...] I really liked Mr. Sun’s article in the N&R today. BTW, Jim Rosenberg is not fat like his portrait might have you believe. He also hit the Trifecta this weekend with his ConvergeSouth Big Bang session, the article and his killer comment at Hogg’s Blog concerning the RMA report.Concerning the Converge session, Jim was really prepared. And his engaging personality did about all one could to turn a university auditorium into an unconference. [...]
