Looks like Double Hung will be headed back over to Raleigh after the first of the year. I just received an email that my company landed the largest contract in our five-year history. We will be restoring all of the 278 original windows in NCSU’s extraordinary ‘1911 Building’
.
Although it was actually completed in 1909, the faculty renamed the old dormitory because,… well, here… read the history of the place for yourself.
Just across the structure’s expansive, Frisbee-infested front lawn is our previous NCSU project that was completed back in June.
With this new job coming on the heels of four important projects we landed back in July, and several smaller projects we have undertaken since, it doesn’t look like this little venture of mine is going to slow down anytime soon.

Congratulations, Hogg. I thought that picture was shot from in front of Leazar Hall.
I am glad you could feature a large expanse of non-brick area at NC State, too.
If you need any metal items for 1911, I know a great fabricator.
Outstanding, David. My brothers, both State alums, will be particularly pleased.
Congratulations, David, and thanks to NCSU for recognizing windows are important.
Of course, that probably means that Bull Sessions at Minj aren’t going to get back on the calendar anytime soon!
Great Work.
Folks were asking about you being double hung…..
It must have been hard to see something like this just after Jinni’s diagnosis with the bill collectors calling and everything uncertain, but good on you for hanging in there and working the problems. State can eat me, of course.
Learned it in the ’70’s, Sun: “Just keep on keepin’ on”. It has served me well over the years.
Thanks for your kind words everyone.
Congrads…keep up the good work down there and you could end up doing the whole place…..and as I recall from my formative (or is that foamative) years in college, State’s campus should be a “Target Rich Environment” for someone in your line !!!
Enjoy ! and ….Go Wolfpack ! ……Cross ten thousand Durham ditches…
