Road to the Final Four goes down Lee Street

Chris Daughtry and Athenaum will play a free concert downtown on Friday, March 23rd.

Even though this is a downtown event, it is being staged by Greensboro Coliseum folks.  Dubbed ‘Tournament Town Goes Downtown Block Party”, Coliseum Director Matt Brown says…

“…We expect a huge turnout and the Coliseum plans to feature the success of this concert as a major element of our upcoming bid to host the 2012 Women’s Final Four.â€?

This cross-promotion of two Greensboro destinations is as forward thinking as one could hope for.  Kudos to DGI and Matt Brown for realizing that we are one very promotable city and not a just a bunch of scattered-point-of-interest fiefdoms.

You selling parking spaces, Hogg? Sounds like a great entrepreneurial idea for your hood, Southside, and other interested parties.

You kidding? We don’t want them noisy folks over here. Remember how hard we worked to get that baseball stadium moved?

Southside is where the parking will be.
