Past their prime?

In a similar fashion to last year’s calls for mass demonstrations and ’only buy Black’ efforts surrounding “A Declaration Against Intolerable Racism”, yesterday’s “rally”, er, discussion, in defense of embattled councilwoman Bellamy-Small seems to have fizzled according to the N&R.

“…About 20 people gathered at Greensboro’s Genesis Baptist Church for the discussion.”

Although the report doesn’t say, and I wasn’t there, I’ll bet you a beer that those “20 people” nearly mirrored the signers of last July’s “Declaration”.

The Pulpit Forum has done some good works in the past, but people just don’t seem to respond to their repetitious drum beating and 1960′s-style tactics any more.  Could it be that they’ve lost the pulse of the very people for whom they purport to advocate and represent?

It could be they need a better cause than support Greensboro’s version of a County Commissioner Meeting.

FG and TDBS has given the citizens of Greensboro our own version of Billy and Skip. Since the Commissioners have toned it down, the City Council has stepped up for our Political Follies Enjoyment. Still, a work in progress; may be because no one really cares anymore. 10% Voter Turnout really means 90% don’t care.

The African American leaders as well as the African American press totally sucks in Greensboro. They are out of touch w anythinbg real and only run to defend their stupid fellow leaders. FG and TDBS issue is horse shit at best.

also from Allen Johnson at the News & Record…
    Tuesday’s council meeting
I dropped by Tuesday to witness firsthand the shows of support for Councilwoman T. Dianne Bellamy-Small.
The planned rally did not happen.
The show of support for her later at the council meeting consisted of a handful of speakers one of whom was her pastor, who conceded Bellamy-Small’s tendency not to return phone calls.

    Thanks for the post Allen.
After watching WFMY’s coverage they led you to believe the room was packed with DBS supporters.
Their story made me wonder if I had missed something because I only saw 2 or 3 people from her district speak.
Has there been any explanation why the “community rally” called for did not materialize?
Could it be???…that there is not enough support for a “rally”?
