Not based in GSO so not really sure how it’s going to help local community much. But I guess it’s another alternative.

I don’t know where they are based. The address for their domain is Chicago’s O’Hare airport and the phone number is for a Chicago restaurant. Sounds like a joke, and if I were paranoid, which I’m not, so stop saying that, I’d think there was something personal about baldheaded news at piss on a rock.

Hogg, thanks for posting the announcement of the trial launch of on Hogg’s Blog. We are currently working out a few software kinks in our platform and will make a public announcement once we are confident that the site is stable and a little easier to navigate as it grows.

To answer darkmoon & Roch101 comments, YES we are local to the Piedmont/Triad area…very local! As a local group we are committed to providing not only the Piedmont/Triad area with an alternative place to voice their opinion or comments, but, we are hoping it expands past geographical boundaries to include ‘anyone’ from ‘anywhere’.

Not everyone has a blog (strange as that may sound) or has the resources or time to establish one. However, we all know that everyone has an opinion or a bone to pick about something close to them. We are all local mothers & fathers, a little too big in the belly, naturally balding heads or sagging this or that with a passion for fun and levity. With that in mind we have designed to be anything but your traditional father’s blog!

Why the bogus info on the domain registration?

  5. Posted March 22, 2007 at 10:29 am | Permalink

Haha… Now they’ve put in privacy blocking. Sounds pretty much like a fraud. First off, anyone from Triad area doesn’t ever say “Piedmont/Triad”.

Sounds to me someone is “pissing in the wind.”

Maybe not fraud…. definitely bogus “local” though. I figure that if it’s a news agency, then it’s probably registered with the state. So checking.

Kind of amusing that they’re using Joomla to create it too.

I’m not bored enough to track it down any further, but it looks like they’ve been trying to set this up since November or so. He claims to be GSO based (found a link to 27410 zip), but I don’t see any records linking that name. Probably a pseudonym.

I can tell you this much though…. from what I could track down of corporate entities and aliases, they’re not registered with the State at all. But from what I could tell, it was a corporate venture, if you look at all of the rest of the test sites.

In any case, i’m not bored enough to search any further. Too much going on with work and startup. I guess the best I can say is… good luck with this, but it won’t be something I’ll be using.

And if case Roch is wondering, since I know he isn’t…… yes I’m just slightly cynical and paranoid, and no, I didn’t shave my head.

One of the posts under the “Latest article” header says it was “written by William,”

but it appears to have been lifted from a blog by NY-based IBM exec Bob Sutor, as is the comment beneath it:

    And this post from 3/22

is lifted from this california blogger’s post from 2/16
