Can men cook?

Yes.  Men CAN cook and a bunch of us proved it yesterday.

In its 6th year as a fundraiser for The Women’s Resource Center, Men who Can Cook put on quite a spread for the 400 or so attendees.  This was my fourth year of pulling together a recipe then attempting ingredient multiplication to make it stretch enough to feed an army.  It is always an enjoyable event for a great cause.

This year’s offering: Pineapple Cheese Casserole.  (I use chunks instead of shredded cheddar.)

That stuff is sooooo yummy! We snagged the recipe from Jinni several years ago and it has become a regular dish around here when those rare but enjoyable “sit-down” meals occur at our house.

I don’t know how many people have tasted the Hoggard-west variety of the recipe but nearly all of them have the same initial “yuck” reaction to the thought of the two main ingredients being combined with each other. One taste though and they’re hooked!

I always make enough to have plenty of left-overs, which are thrown tothe fridge and snacked on over the next couple of days. It’s great cold!!

I’m sure the multitudes at the fund-raiser loved it, too!!
