Bring back the human sprinkler

The last time Greensboro was under such heavy water restrictions in 2002, my Jinni came up with a plan to make a few bucks off of the whole thing.

She placed an ad in the N&R advertising herself as “The Human Sprinkler”.  A short article about her exploits subsequently ran in the N&R and then the AP picked it up.   Calls came from radio stations across the nation for an interview and a blurb about it even ran in the ticker on CNN.  Here’s the story on News of the Wierd.

For the record:  Despite the heavy publicity and brief national notoriety, she only got a single job offer.  On the day she was to do her thing, it finally rained

Looking For Gangs And Drugs In Greensboro?

The Bloods have set up shop and are servicing hundreds of customers daily at 1108 Willard Street, corner Textile & Willard in the frame house with the handicapped ramps.

This is across the street from my house, our children are now confined to the house as are other nearby children. Cars drive up, drop people off, drive around the block and pick them back up. Others park a block away.

A lot of red shoes, hats and other items of clothing adorn these young mostly Black but occasionally Hispanic and White men and boys.

We are now prisoners in our own homes. Their coming and going never stops. It slows in the daytime but goes full bore all night long. I’ve called GPD but nothing has happened.
