School climate change

Dave Ribar says loading our schools up with all of the recommendations put forth by Guilford County Schools’ 23 member task force on “school climate” will take away from other things…

“…loading the schools up with so many policies, so many initiatives, and so many reports that no one is able to implement any of them effectively. It appears that many of our schools need to implement better procedures, but we need to recognize that if they are doing this, time is taken away from something else.”

Agreed… like learning.  Although it is an imperitive for us to improve the “climate” (read, discipline) in our schools, there is no way all of those recommendations will come about due to time and money restraints.  Choose one to start.  Ribar thinks this one is a go.
