Converging on Cypress Street

The banana pudding is ordered from the usual source.  The Boston butts are reserved at Cosco.  Must be about time for ConvergeSouth.

I’m watching the weather forecast for Friday and right now they are calling for rain.  That will either change or it won’t, but either way, we are expecting 150 or so folks to come by to eat, drink and be Mary… or whomever.

Couple of surprises are in store this year.

He-who-used-to-be-known-as  The Troublemaker has been itchin’ to fry up some fish and hush puppies all Southern style so I took him up on his kind offer.  Nuthin’ much better than fish, BBQ, sweet tea, beer and puddin’.

The Ayckock Neighborhood’s favorite band, The Radials, have offered their musical stylings for the occasion.  Two-doors-down neighbor Shawn patch came by today to look over the venue.  We decided to set them up on the deck in the back so as to leave the front porch and yard for lower-decibal loving conversation and leisurely stand-up dining.

Looks like we will be nearly 150 Convergers.  Ought to be fun – ‘cept for the rain – but whatever.  We’ll pitch some tents if we have to.

The New Hogg wifi network will be available for those live bloggers who get the urge, and plenty of beer will be available for those who know better than to drink and blog.

I hate I’m going to have to miss CS this year. And the cookout is one of the biggest reasons why. Eat some ‘cue and hoist a cold one for me, will you?

Lex, I don’t recall your submitting a “can I be excused” permission slip this year. Darn, we’re going to miss you!

I’m trying to figure out if the N&R or weather.com is accurate this year. I’m voting for the N&R’s “partly sunny” forecast and think I’ll dismiss the “showers” I see on other sites. See what happens when Landmark sells the Weather Channel? We get dueling forecasts!

I didn’t register, but I’m going to stop by for at least a short time in the morning. I can’t stay for the entire thing because I have a standing lunch date on Fridays with a wonderful little man…my son the 1st grader, in the school cafeteria. :-) They actually have surprisingly tasty pizza dippers! The cookout sounds like a lot of fun…I’d like to stop by that as well. I’ve been reading all these blogs, commenting on occasion, and writing my own blog, so it’d be nice to put faces with fonts! Looking forward to it!

I didn’t even need to check the weather. I’ve been to at least two (maybe three) of your gracious CS dinners, and it has poured each time. No matter. We’ll be having so much fun we won’t even notice the rain.
