A good time last night for our fourth annual hosting of ConvergeSouth revelers. It was good to see all of the familiar faces and a pleasure to have many new ones on the porch around the fire and the dining room table.
Although the rain kept the numbers well below the registered 180 Convergers, what we lacked in quantity was made up for in quality with late surge that included Joe “the reporter” Killian who, as I awoke to discover, became more and more famous as yesterday progressed.
Many thanks go out to Ben Holder and his fish fryer for all of the help and the great hushpuppies. One of the great developments of the night was listening to Ben and Yes!Weekly’s Brian Clarey as they both discovered they kinda liked each other after all.
I’m going to try and make to a session or two today, but then again, someone has to clean up this mess.

My kids are still talking about your wonderful neighbors and the fun they had. I was honored to be there. You and your lovely wife are great hosts.
Had I been able to walk, I would have been there. The social reports were fab and the food, I’m sure, was great. Any hushpuppies left over?
Sorry I couldn’t make it. The drive from Winston back, was just too tiring. I was out cold on my bed by the time it was time to drive back. Will definitely have to get out to the your place sometime. Sorry I missed it, but sounds like it was great.
Thanks so much. Another lovely evening in Greensboro.
Hoggard, I was going to come, but by the time I got back to Oak Ridge the drizzle just made me want to stay at home. I’ll get there one of these years.
It’s good to hear that everyone had a fun time.
Next year. I’ll be there next year. Sorry I ended up missing everything this year after all. :-/
The USPO musta lost my invite. Well the light was on over at Textile Drive, anyhoo.

Thanks for hosting the bash! I’ve been trying to get to ConvergeSouth for a couple of years, and it was everything I’d expected and then some. The laid-back community BBQ was a great way to close out the day. May your BBQs be many!
Classy gathering as always Hogg. Thanks to you and Jinni…
David, it is with literal anguish that I am enduring missing this event. I looked forward to it every year I was in Greensboro, and and saddened to think I may never be able to make it to another one.
Glad everything went well though. Sounds like a wonderful time was had by all.
Thanks so much for hosting once again. Thanks to you and Jinni too for helping out with Saturday by letting us have the lunch infrastructure. I decided to bring food in at almost literally the last minute and you spared me a lot of emergency shopping. You both rock and I appreciate you.
Thank you very much for hosting it and all of your work. I felt like an idiot when I left and realized, later, that I hadn’t thanked anyone! Got too busy with conversation… and ended up looking like a jerk.
Sorry about that. And thanks again, it was greatly appreciated and I had a great time.
